LFC began as an independent church in 1940, when the Founder Al Ware came to
Lompoc to hold "evangelistic" meetings in the city. A growing group of
people began attending and soon a church was formed and property was
purchased on "C" street and the original sanctuary was erected. This group
was very progressive - developing children's programs and also Youth
meetings which were held on various evenings throughout the month. The
church was very involved in the community and in ministry to Camp Cook - the
local Army Base which today is Vandenberg Air Force Base. After a few years
- Al Ware and his family decided to move on from their ministry here in
Lompoc and decided the church would be best served and also be assured
continuity and support by becoming a denominational church. After much
discussion and inquiry the church decided to become a Foursquare Church. The
International Church of the Foursquare Gospel was their choice
.
Many
great pastors and leaders have come to the church and continued to see
growth and development of various ministries. In 1986 Pastor Bernie and
Debbie Federmann came to pastor LFC. During this time the church has had
significant growth and has become the largest it has ever been.
In 1993 the
original sanctuary was torn down and a new sanctuary was built. More recent
has been the purchase of the "corner house" which is used for various
ministry and fellowship opportunities and the purchase of property and
development of a new Multi-Use and Parking space (40 spaces) completed
January 2004. Currently we are expanding our Sanctuary (auditorium)
seating capacity and adding a Welcome / Resource Room and separate entrance and
audio and video and technology enhancements as well. You can read more about it
and catch a few pictures of the process by

and creative ministry to the Lompoc
area, that has
resulted in thousands of salvations, healed and restored lives, marriages and families,
support to other churches and missions
endeavors (both Foursquare
and other denominations)., worthwhile causes and ministries
and being a home away from home for those serving in our military and stationed
at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
